Nicolás Pellón
Piano

Pianist Nicolás Pellón was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. He made his orchestral debut at sixteen, playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major with the Charlottesville Youth Orchestra under Kenneth Nafziger. Pellón continued his studies in piano performance at the University of Maryland School of Music on full scholarship, and the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music on full teaching assistantship. His principal teachers were Barbara Chapdelaine, Mimi Tung, Santiago Rodríguez, and Edward Auer.

Pellón has given concerts in Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington D.C. He has taught on the piano faculties of the Indiana University Pre-College and Secondary Piano programs, the International School of Music in Bethesda, and currently teaches at and runs the Nicolás Pellón Piano Studio in Laurel, Maryland.

His students have been accepted to prestigious B.M. programs at institutions including Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, Peabody Institute, the Universities of Colorado Boulder, Houston, Maryland, Miami, South Florida, Texas Austin, Eastern Michigan University, Roosevelt University, and Temple University; as well as to summer music festivals and schools including Adamant, Brevard, Eastern Music Festival, Edward Auer Summer Piano Workshop, Interlochen, Rocky Ridge, Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, and the Tel-Hai International Piano Masterclasses.
